“San Francisco” was originally known as “Yerba Buena” (Good Herbs). The “gentrification” of the Bay area also resulted in the re-naming of “Quenteen’s point, a promontory upon which a local rebellious “Indian” was tracked down by the “Rancher’s Assn. and hanged. We now know that promontory as “San Quentin”.
